Hathersage

First we went on a train to Sheffield. It took about 15 minutes. Then we went off the train and waited 20 minutes for the train to Hathersage then it took about 13 minutes to get to Hathersage.

When we got there, we had a 15 minute walk to get to the centre then we parked our stuff in to our dorms then tried our walking boots on. After that we tried our water proofs on then we went to a grave yard at 7 o’clock with Mr Huthart. It took about 18 minutes and then Rachel sat us down and told us some rules then we went to bed. I was with LiL, Jess, Brooke and Dakota.

The next day we went and had break fast and then we made are sandwiches.  We got put in separate groups. Alivia went on a 4 and a half mile walk. First Mr Machin put us in groups and I went with Aaron. We all had a map and we had to look for clips and stamp them on a card. Me and my partner were first to find them all and get them all right. Once we had done that we had to do a course and we were first and guess.

After lunch, we went back to the centre and put some wellies and then we put our water proofs on and then we walked to the stream and tried to catch some fish (I saw a dead fish). Then we went to the deep end of the lake and caught a rubber duck. Then we went to a even deeper end and I fell over twice. I ran as quick as a flash and emptied my wellies. They were half full of water and then we got out and went to the centre and had a shower and put our pyjamas on. Then we had our tea and then we got are sweets and watched Home Alone 1. We then went to bed and stayed up until 3 or 4 in the morning. The the next day we went on a 4 and a half mile walk

Hathersage

At first we got to Worksop train station and then we went on the train. It took half an hour.

After we got of the train, we walked to st Micheal’s Centre. We put are heavy suitcases on the chessboard and went in. We had a tour around st Michael’s and are dormitory’s (they were small). We made our beds and then we got told the rules. The person who told us the rules was a lady called Rachel.

Before we went to bed we watched a film and of course we went to bed while we were watching the film. We were also allowed some sweets before bed.

The Zombie in the Forest

Deep within the dark, gloomy forest, there was a zombie, who had ripped clothes, scars all over his body and a melted down face. Its was coming towards us with a deadly rusty axe. Suddenly, the zombie stopped right at us and stared at us like he was going to kill us. All of a sudden, without warning, he turned around…

We ran as fast as lightning to an old, creaky and rotten house. We got in the locked the door. Ten minutes later, there was banging on the door, then it stopped then an axe went though the door. We went into an other room and we looked into a mirror and there was a strange reflection of a little girl. Then we went into an other room and the girl ran past us. All of a sudden, the windows shut and the doors slammed and we tried to get out but we got cornered by a creepy girl…

It was all a dream.

Mirror

The girl stood in front of the mirror but it wasn’t facing the way she was facing (if you get what I mean). When she was facing one way, the mirror was facing the other. The girl started to walk off but she couldn’t move. She tried to go to the hospital but she couldn’t even get to the car. She had to be picked up by the police. The girl fainted because she couldn’t move. She had to get surgery. She couldn’t move because all her bones collapsed she got out 99 weeks later. She was let out but still has crutches.

The End

The Silent House

One spooky stormy night there was a little, silent house. One day, two children crept near the house. In the legend of this house, a silent beast lived in the rotten house. The legend went onto say that the two children, Jimmy and Tom, would find out if this magical legend is true.

They entered the house. Everything was silent until the sound of foot steps in their presence. Without warning, they could hear howling from the moon. It was the full moon. They thought the creature could be a werewolf. They shook. A miniature dog came and the silent creature crept behind the dog and said “BOO! I found you”, then the creature looked up at Jimmy and Tom and said “Hi my name is Poppy, I’m a vampire but I’m not going to hurt you.”

A few weeks later, they became friends but something else lived in the silent house. They will never find the secret of the silent house and who dares to live there next. It could it be spying on them right now…

Hathersage

So far on our Year 5 Hathersage residential, we have taken part in some very exciting activities. We all met at Worksop Train Station on Sunday afternoon and, after saying goodbye to our parents, we caught the train to Sheffield. When we arrived at Sheffield Train Station, we then had to board another train to Hathersage.

Once we arrived at Hathersage, we walked from Hathersage train station to St Michael’s Education centre where we would be staying for the next couple of days. After we had met Rachel, the woman who works at the centre, we then had a tour of the centre and found out where we would be sleeping. After this, we unpacked our things and made our beds.

After we made our beds and had our tea, we went on a night walk. On the night walk we walked through Brookfield Manor and up to St Michael’s church on a spooky walk through the graveyard. Once we had done this we returned back to St Michael’s Education Centre and went to bed.

The following morning, we woke up, had breakfast, made our lunches and then got our things ready for our activities. Half of us went on a hike to Stanage Edge while the other half of us completed orienteering challenges and completed a stream study.

The Four Polar Bears

In a glistening land of ice and snow, there were four polar bears who were as white as winter wonder. They live in an ice palace.

One day, the ice started to melt. Suddenly, there was a magical book that told them how to cure their home from melting. They set off on one stormy night. It was hard for the three cubs. Then, an evil ice queen shouted at the cub for walking on her.

“How dare you! Go to find my cure! If you complete these challenges, I will give you the cure” She screamed angrily, “the first challenge will be to sneak the ice emerald out of my iced up hand”. They realised that the ice queen could teleport and melt into the snow.

They finally did it. They were so happy, they were amazed! They pounced home to the ice palace. When they got there, they realised that there was a dint in the ice to put the cure in. The cure turned in to a frosted Ruby but it wasn’t a ordinary Ruby, it was clear, but then…

One cold day, three cubs and their mum went fishing. One of the cubs slipped into the water and mum bear got him out and then the baby bear said “thanks Mum.”

“It’s okay but next time don’t fall in”said mum. The third baby bear screamed “Argh!” and Mum bear screamed “there’s a human trying to kill us” and the human said”don’t worry I don’t want to hurt you, can I help you go fishing?”

“Yes you may help us fish ”
